Sold Item on ebay and lost in post, will I be charged?
I sold an iphone on ebay and sent it with royal mail 1st class signed for. I have a copy of the receipt so i'm sure that is proof of postage. It has been well over 15 days and the buyer hasn't received the item, i tracked it and it says it is still with royal mail. I think its lost. Will I be charged for this by ebay/paypal. I don't have the money right now, i've sent off a claim to royal mail with all the evidence needed, but it will only give me £50 compensation. Are ebay/paypal going to charge me still for the amount it sold (£130).
Obviously the buyer gets their money back.
Yes ebay will charge you for re-imbursing the buyer.
Royal Mail might not pay out at all, as you should have used Special Delivery.
Have you telephoned Royal Mail and asked them to update the tracking?
A copy of the receipt is not the same as proof of postage but seeing as you sent it sighned for you may or not get charged for it ok so you should have used special delivery but it might still have got lost anyway as there are no guarantees with anything especially royal mail. Give royal mail another ring and get them to look into it for you as its got to be somewhere
Yes. Ebay will reimburse the buyer whether or not you have the money - and they will chase aggressively until you settle.
1st class Recorded is not a tracking service. It merely confirms when the item is delivered ~ assuming it gets delivered. The receipt you got from Royal Mail when you sent it is of course a Proof of Posting but not proof of WHAT you actually posted. Don't bother ringing Royal Mail, as the package is not on a tracking service they have no way of finding it.
If the buyer does not get the item ebay will order you to refund the money.
It will take anything up to 3 months to get compensation for non delivery.

- Unpaid item case after i relisted it and sold it? I put up an Iphone 4 on ebay, someone bought it but never paid. After 2 days i messaged them asking what was going on and they replied "i don't want it, it's verizon"---obviously this person is an idiot because it clearly said Verizon in the title. However, i relisted it and it sold. But now i want to open an 'unpaid item' case in ebay. But i no longer have the phone because i sold it, so if they do pay… What do i do?

OK so I sold an iPhone on eBay for 175 I shipped it 2 days after receiving payment 2 weeks later the buyer tells me he hasent received it and he is asking me what can I do so what should I do I don't want to give him a refund cuase then he gets 175 and all I get is a missing iPhone so what should I do?
- Is iPhone 5 sold in the US better than those sold in China in quality? I know that most of apples products are manufactured in China. But is there like any slight difference?
