Taking my IPhone from USA to Costa Rica and want to only use it for Wi-Fi how?
Check with your cellular provider to see if your phone will incur charges just by being on. If no, you avoid charges by simply not making or receiving any calls and only use then phone when it is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi.
You can go to settings, cellular and turn OFF Cellular Data. (Alternatively, you could technically just turn off Data Roaming)
However, your phone would still receive phone calls in the scenario. If your phone rings, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT ANSWER, you will be charged when the call goes to voicemail. You will be charged minutes while the caller is hearing your outgoing message, and also while they are leaving a message.
Only way to fully avoid this would be to remote the SIM card. If you have a Verizon iPhone or a model that will not work in Costa Rica, then you would not have to worry about that because it won't get a signal.
Before you leave, be sure to download, activate, and TEST the VONAGE app. It's free. It will allow you to make calls back to the USA for free over Wi-Fi. That's my main mode of calling home when I'm there.
- Will my phone work at all in Costa Rica? I'm going to be on vacation in Costa Rica for a week. I have an iPhone 7 through US Cellular and I was wondering if I'm going to have any sort of service down there (as in data or voice). We will also be switching hotels almost every night while we're down there so will most hotels there have Wi-Fi?
- Why isn't my Iphone (5) taking regular pictures and only able to take Selfies? When I take a picture of the object in front, the screen goes blank and the picture doesn't get taken. It then slides to the start page. When I start the camera it goes on flip mode automatically and only takes selfies. any idea what's the problem here?
- Should any tax plan that lowers rates for corporations only give that rate for companies who do business and employ workers in the USA? So, Trump Inc, who manufactures ties in China, gets no tax cut. Neither does Apple because the iPhone is made in China too.
- Photos on Iphone taking up 8GB and I only have 200 photos? A couple months ago I got my Iphone 4s fixed and the only thing that got deleted on it was my photos and it still said it was taking up 8 GB and now I wanna update to IOS7 but I don't have enough space and I only have 200 photos and it says its taking up 8GB how do I fix this? Yeah I know but even if I have ZERO photos its still says photos are taking up 8GB
