Verizon iphone 4 texting problems?

I have an iphone 4 with Verizon and it is always resending text messages that I have sent hours before. It only does it when I'm trying to send that person a new message and they get a message that I have set before that. Sometimes they will not even get the original message I'm trying to send and I have to keep resending it. I have called Verizon and they told me to update my phone with the new towers because supposedly my phone was out of date with that. It stopped it for a little while but has started back up again. I updated my phone with the towers again(which they told me to do every 2-3 months) but the problem was not fixed. My boyfriend says he will receive a mass amount of texts from me at one time that are all ones that were previously sent. Has any one had this same problem with their iphone? If so, what should I do before I call and complain again and TRY to get a new phone.

I have had this happen on rare occasion, but probably 95% of the time I go to send a text message it works properly. I would try updating the software on your iPhone itself, and if that doesn't do anything then you can call Verizon again and tell them that you have already done the tower update and that hasn't resolved anything yet.
