What is jail breaking you iphone?
My friend said that she is going to do it after school. I have no idea what this means. I'm not going to do it because all I know is that my iphone isn't covered. But what exactly is jail breaking your phone?
Jailbreaking iphone is the same as rooting an android phone. It basically allow you to install third party programs and overall gives more control over your device.
Jailbreaking means modifying your iPhone so that you can bypass built-in security and change things that you ordinarily can't change. Unfortunately, it also destabilizes the phone and makes it much more vulnerable to malware and security threats. If you want something reliable, do not jailbreak your phone.
The term comes from a feature of an old operating system, UNIX, which is the ancestor of current smartphone systems. UNIX has a feature called "jail," which allows you to run a program but doesn't let the program do anything dangerous. The program is said to be running in jail. All programs on an iPhone run this way, which keeps the phone secure but limits what you can change to what Apple allows you to change. Jailbreaking compromises this system and allows you access to things you normally can't do, but it also makes the system more vulnerable.
