Why do I do these annoying habits?

I have these extremely annoying habits that I do almost every hour of the day. I don't know why I do them but I do and if I don't, I will literally feel sick or like I'm about to cry/scream.
I always:
- trace the edges of my iPhone and go over the homebutton with my thumb so it fits perfectly
- trace the corners of basically everything I touch, as long as I realize I'm doing it; ex.TV, laptop, back of chairs, keyboards, power buttons, etc)
- push my elbows into my ribcage when I'm sitting (I really don't know why)
- if I hurt one part of my body, the opposite parts has to hurt EQUALLY as much (ex.knees, elbows)
- if I feel like a key on my keyboard isn't being used enough, I will have to use them even if the word I'm typing doesn't have that letter ( common with a, s, d, q and w)
- repeat entire paragraphs/sentences if I think I said one word wrong or too fast or not with the right expression
- I always think I left my door open when I leave for school and that my dog will escape, even though I know I closed it

There are many others, but I can't explain them. Someone Please tell me why I do these things?

Hmm. Some of these; like tracing things or repeating things sound really normal. I mean i do those things. I don't know about sitting like that but whatever's comfortable right? I wouldnt worry i don't think.

It sounds to me like you have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It's very common for people with OCD to have something called "ticks" which are compulsions, often in repeated patterns, that must be performed to rid yourself of an unwanted obsession. If you've ever seen the television show Monk, he suffered from OCD and would have many ticks like that. Sometimes it's a matter of washing your hands 5 times, or tapping a chair 10 times every time you go by, or chewing your food on one side of your mouth a certain number of times then chewing it on the other side for the same amount. If this sounds like you I would highly recommend talking to a mental health provider. OCD is an anxiety disorder and as such can be treated with medication and/or cognitive behavioral therapy.

  • Why is Apple being so annoying So my iPhone won't let me buy any apps whatsoever because it says my security code is "invalid" when all of my information is correct from my card. Apple told me to call my bank and my bank told me to call apple. I did both and they're both stupid. Has anyone had this issue and how was it resolved!
  • My iPhone Stopped Vibrating When I get Texts! It's So Annoying-? If I'm on my phone and I get a text the banner will just stay there for a long time and not vibrate or make a noise at all, if my phone is locked it still won't vibrate or make a sound, it will just light up. I checked to see if all sounds and vibrations worked and they do. What do I do?
