Why does everyone have the iphone now?

I've had the iphone for about 5 years now and I always liked the fact that not many people had it. Along with the fact it's an amazing phone and knowing that hardly anyone else had it is what made me like it so much.
Then out of nowhere about a year ago until now it seems like every single human being in the world went out and got one. I don't understand now. When the phone has been out for years.
I'm considering getting a new phone because I don't want to have the same phone as everyone else.

I have no idea. But I use an old lg android still, prefer android. Only reason I would get an iphone is so I can have my favorite musics on it.though I can use my ipod touch for that.

My best guess: FaceTime was a big deal. Facetime was the reason I had to own one.

Also the hype began to build over the years. As the phone became sleeker and had new features, the ads drew people in.

Because its the best design, best OS, and best security.

Thats actually not entirely true. There are more people with an iPhone than any other type of phone, but there are way more people with android phones than iPhones

Fact is, since the iPhone was released in 2007 it has been popular. Of course, as more are released more people are going to own them. Any other "amazing" phone you get will, eventually, have a lot of users as well.
