14 and want a camera go pro or DSLR?

So I'm a pretty young photographer and video maker and i really was looking in to getting a new camera currently only using an iPhone. I really want a go pro seeing all the amazing videos and pictures they have taken but i also want a more professional camera for photos and other things likewise but at the same time i also love editing so i was wondering if they can both do photos and videos even the go pro is meant for videos and if a dslr which kind keep in mind money is a factor being only fourteen and my mom paying for some of it. The GoPro is a very small profile videocam capable of HD videos. This makes it really suitable for action videos or where camera needs to achieve unconventional angles (ThePianoGuys).

A DSLR is big, unwieldy and hard to use a video-camera for extended durations. Most DSLR cameras turn off in the middle of video recording if the sensor gets too hot. Most of them also have really poor audio-mic and few offer external Mic-in.

GoPro lens in configured as infinite-focus-infinite-depth, making the entire scene sharp and harder to use for documentary (where out of focus areas contribute to the effect).

A DSLR can use lenses of really wide aperture and combined with a Follow-focus rack, can give beautifully composed shots. Although, video focusing on DSLRs largely remains manual since auto-focus tends to jump.

If you are on a limited budget, I will suggest a camera like the Canon SX50 HS. It is capable for 1080p videos, Stereo audio with optional mic-in, high-speed videos (240 fps) and the terrific focal length 24mm - 1200mm means you will not have to invest in myriad lenses.
