A IPhone 5s Or A Maltese Puppy?
Okay so They both cost almost the same the Maltese I want cost 725 and the Iphone 5s cost 685 in total would come out like 720 or something, I've wanted a Maltese since I was 10 I'm 13 I have a Iphone 4s but the Iphone 5s has a pretty camera quailty! And I really want a maltese! I don't know which to choice btw the maltese comes with her puppy shots she is registered to pedigree is trained to go potty and comes with its start kit Which One! Please help!
Added (1). Guy's I wasn't clear I know I'll have to be very responsible for what I'm doing if I'm getting a pet
Well the puppy is a 10 year plus commitment not to mention all the extra money the puppy will need with a quality diet, fleas and worm protection and yearly vaccinations. Plus any unexpected vet trips. You are only 13 if I were you I would get the phone and save the puppy until you are older and can commit to a dog.
Only get a pet if you are responsible and can devote yourself to the commitment. Pets will always have extra cost, such as food, vet bills, equipment and other things. They also need daily work and input care (including attention) and are not something to just have for the sake of having it. If you're not up for all that, and you just care about shiny things and what have you, just get a new phone.
If you have to ask this question, then you are not ready to commit to a live animal. A person should be 100% absolutely certain and with no thoughts of other things they want to get, rather than a puppy when contemplating getting one.
The fact you can't make up your own mind shows you are not yet ready to get a puppy, so get the Iphone, enjoy it and one day when you are older and more committed, get your pup. There's no rush, you have your whole life ahead of you. Jmo.
At 13 you can't enter into any buying contract so I'm guessing your parents are giving you this choice?
Frankly, unless your parents want and will be responsible for the dog, the phone is a better, more practical choice at this time. For one thing, you'll be going off to college in a few years and your life and priorities will naturally change (whether or not you go to college) a great deal.
Maltese are great little dogs (we had two of them) but they do require care, training and especially a lot of grooming. There's also Vet care to consider. Your commitment to the Maltese could potentially last as long as 20 years (one of ours was 18 when he died).
LMAO! First world problems!
$725 initially. Then added costs. $60 every 4 months for flea treatment, atleast $30 a month for decent food, shots are about $50-100 each and the puppy will need two more vaccinations in its first year and then one every year after. Maltese don't shed so there's also grooming costs to make sure they don't matt. You can spend up to $200 getting it fixed and another $80 for a microchip. Not to mention also you will have to get it licsensed at 8 months and that's $35 a year.
Then you also have your wants. You will want to get their own dog bed, collar, leash, dishes and some type of travelling case. That will be at least another $200.
If you think you can afford that go for it but remember this puppy is a living thing and you are responsible for it. Personally I think you should go with an iPhone.
It's impossible for such a young puppy to have control over her bladder or bowels. Also the cost of a puppy is inconsequential, you must consider all of the additional costs EVERY year.
All kids want a dog; unfortunately they have no idea of what this involves.
A dog can't be left alone all day. Who will look after a dog when you go to school and who will look after the dog when you go to college or get a full time job?
DOGS NEED PEOPLE, PEOPLE DO NOT NEED DOGS. IT WILL BE BORED MISERABLE AND LONELY if it is left home alone.
If you loved dogs, you would not get a puppy.
Have you time to take a dog for several long walks a day? If not can you get someone to take it out to prevent it from becoming bored and miserable.
Have you a fenced garden or yard?
Who will take your dog out every hour during the day to toilet train it. Will you get up during the night to take it outside when it needs to pee? Your dog will never be toilet trained if it left at home on its own, it will pee in the house forever.
Do you know that dogs are very expensive to maintain, they need veterinary treatment.
If they are left alone, they pee and poo and damage the carpets and furniture.
