Apple iPhone/iPad Wi-Fi problem? - 1
I have a iPhone 3gs and a iPhone 4 plus an iPad 2 and my problem with all of them is that when i download updates or games the download bar loads then freezes and just stops but i press retry and it doesn't do anything so i have to delete them. I turned them off and everything. I restarted the Wi-Fi and have had this problem for about a week now and it is getting really annoying.
Added (1). @Brandon, No the internet/ safari and my computer work as they should with out a problem, it's just something wrong with the devices.
I think its your internet connection, maybe you've gone over the download limit and your bandwidths limited? Try updating and downloading from just one iDevice at a time and leave the device to download through the night when nothing else(including computer) is using your internet connection. It has to be your internet connection if not your router. I mainly think its your internet speed.
***edit
i take it @Brandon is for me? Anyways…
Try resetting your network settings on all your iDevices, And also check up your internet settings from your router, as in what speed you connect at to your ISP. Check if you can download a file on your pc at the usual speed, or whether its lagging.
Try switching off your router for 60 seconds and disconnect all your devices that connect to it.restart the router and only let one device connect, maybe your iPhone. Make sure to turnoff Wi-Fi, in everything else off, including you PC ( disable Wi-Fi or disconnect the Ethernet cable). If you have another wireless router i'd suggest try using that too and seeing if its an issue with the router.
Also are your apple devices jail-broken? If so did you install anything from some repo?
PS, if this is iOS 6; there has been some talk about Wi-Fi issues plaguing iOS 6.
you could try using the auto proxy fix: Settings>Wi-Fi>("Your Network")> [the blue circle arrow icon]
Scroll to bottom of screen and set HTTP Proxy to Auto
another fix could be updating your router firmware.
Again, these aren't sure fixes, its a hit and miss kinda solution.let me know if this helps, however if you can't be bothered with all this call a "Genius"… Lol hope this helps you sort out out your problem.gotta run, i'm am work and lunchtime's over.
***edit… But the most effective seems to be resetting Network Settings and changing the HTTP Proxy to "Auto." - just saw this…
- What use is an ipad or ipad mini to someone with an iphone and macbook? I'm thinking of getting an ipad mini or ipad 2 for someone who already has an iphone 5 and macbook pro. I don't know how useful it will be since they are not likely to use it outside of their home and i'll be getting the non 3g version so it won't be much use when they take it out anyway.
