Are software updates for the iPhone mandatory?
Are software updates for the iPhone mandatory?
No, but if want to keep updated with Apple, it recommended. The updates are for fixing sometime crashes, patch, vulnerability, etc… I know iPhone users that they don't want to loose their jailbreak so some of them are still on 4.2.1.
It is NOT mandatory.
Nope. Apple does not force you to install any update.
They are recommended, as many of them will fix bugs and close security holes. Some of the updates will include additional functionality.
Nope. Optional but recommended
- Will restoring my iPhone to factory settings remove software updates? I currently have 6.1.4 and I want to restore it back to 6.1.2. If I reset to factory, will it set it back to 6.1.2? I really wanna know. Anything helps thanks
- Will ios 7 for the iphone 5 be mandatory? I heard the ios 7 is coming out in the fall but I hate the look of it; that was one of the major reasons why I got my iphone. I love how it is now and I don't want to be forced to change back to exactly what I was trying to escape. Will there be any way I can still keep ios 6 and just never update my phone? Or will I have to eventually?
- Is there a free app or software to keep track of updates? Instead of seeking out updates through my Mac and iPhone is there a software or application that will organize and notify me of them. Example: Mac App Store updates, Firefox, Adobe, iPhone apps, iPhone updates Thank you!
- Is the iPhone 5S Touch ID mandatory? I'm a user of an iPhone 4S, and I can upgrade to iPhone 5S next year's July, but there's one thing stopping me. Not the price or anything(I'm buying it sim free) But, the Touch ID sensor. Is it mandatory? I mean, the idea is neat, but if it's mandatory then it's a deal-breaker for me.
