It sure won't help it or make it faster.
Smoke damage can happen to electronics, possibly corroding the contacts and electronics faster than normal. Luckily, there are no moving parts to be gummed up.

- Smoke coming from iPhone headphone jack? I dropped my phone in water and put it in rice. When I took it out everything was working except i had a piece of rice stuck in the jack. I tried to use a needle to get it out but i went too far and the jack started smoking and my phone won't turn on at all now. Is there anything I can do? Can i get it fixed or will it have to be replaced?
