Can i buy an iphone from AT&T and use it for Virgin Mobile?

I heard you can unlock the iphone 4, if i do that would i be able to take it from AT&T and use the same iphone 4 for Virgin Mobile? Or would i need a completely new phone? I know if it was AT&T to T-Mobile it would work but i'm not sure for other phone companies

Probably not. You would need to buy a Virgin Mobile iPhone. I have heard that Virgin Mobile doesn't use SIM phones, and since the iPhone is one of them, right then even if you were able to unlock it, it still probably wouldn't work right.

The 4S & 5 probably but not the 4. The 4 is either GSM or CDMA.AT&T is GSM & Virgin Mobile is CDMA. Can't use one on the other.
