That's the point of an unlocked phone; to be used in other carriers. However, unlocked doesn't mean that it will work with every single carrier in the world. There are some carriers that use bands that an American phone might not work with.
When I was in Mexico a few months ago, I never got 4G LTE even though MoviStar does have 4G LTE coverage in a lot of the places I went. I was using a Verizon LG G3.

So you will need at least an iPhone 4s in order to get Siri.

Should work. May need to look into which GSM frequencies are used in Peru to make sure it would work though.

  • Will this iPhone work in Peru? http://www.amazon.com/...00598BY6W/ If i bring one of these phones to Peru will I be able to use it with a mobile company from here? (Movistar)
  • Will my iphone 5 work in Peru? I'm currently in Peru. And my iphone5 that i had a plan with tmobile (prepaid) in the US changed its service to Mobistar but i can only receive messages and i can't do anything else. No internet or phone calls. Is there any way that i can change it so that i can call into and text into the states? My phone is unlocked
  • Will I be able to use an iPhone 4 from the US in Peru? Well I'm thinking on buying a used iPhone 4 in the US and bring it to Peru to use it here but I was wondering if it must be unlocked. Also, I heard there are some mobile companies in the US that don't use SIM cards or something similar so I guess that I won't be able to use the iPhone in Peru in that case. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm not sure about that. But if I'm correct, then which mobile companies DO have SIM cards so I can use the phone here?
  • Today my dad upgraded to an iphone 10, and because he has the forever iphone plan he was able to keep his old phone and he gave it to me? I synced all of my apps and contacts from my old phone, a samsung, to the new one, when I texted one of my friends, I found out I was sending messages through my icloud address and I had no service. Is this something I'll have to call my carrier about to switch my number, or can it be done manually and from the phone's settings. If the it's the latter, what steps would I have to take?
