Can I connect to my Wi-Fi without the need of a password?

At work the router doesn't have a password to access the internet. One of the workers asked me for my iPhone address, or something like that, and I saw him adding in numbers into the site of the router.
Can I do that too on my router at home?
It's Linksys btw.

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. There are many devices out there that can be configured to automatically connect to wireless networks. Without intention, this means that all the browsing history of said device done on your network will be visible to your ISP. Therefore, any inappropriate or illegal websites that are visited will ultimately become your responsibility. Don't do it. Use WPA2 and make the password as random as possible, you'd be surprised just how efficient your network can be when it's secure.

Maybe, depending on your router at home. Which we don't know.

But really, don't do that, it's not worth it.

Yes. You set it up to allow only specified MAC addresses. Most routers support MAC filtering.

Yes, in fact you should password protect your Wi-Fi because if you don't then anyone can access it and you can actually get hacked. You can setup the password in the router's settings. You usually have to type in a number or IP address into a browser in order to get to the settings.

Yes you can. Go into settings.

Don't set security settings leave as open without network key. You won't have to remember when setting up other devices.
You are wide open for unauthorized users or people hopping free connection.

Yes you can have your Wi-Fi open for anyone to use.
Mine is open. Where I live though out in the country
no one can access mine unless they come in my yard. If I lived in a bad neighborhood I would have mine protected.
