Can I develop an app using a windows based pc and what language would I use?
I want to create an app that can be used by apple users as well as android users but I only have a windows based pc. Can I develop an app that can be used on apple and iphones. What language would I used. Can I used IOS?
Why not start with what you have, you could build an Android app with your PC, on a Mac you could build both an Android app and an iOS app. Actually, there are some paid programs that'll let you develop iOS apps on Windows but my knowledge of them is shallow, obviously Xcode on OSX is the best IDE for building iOS apps, after all Apple uses it to build their own apps.
Another thing is native tests on an actual targeted device, a multi platform app means more devices to test on.
Language, framework, official IDE:
Android - Java, Android Application Framework, Eclipse ADT
iOS - Objective-C, Cocoa Touch framework, XCode
If you know a programming language or two, learning another one isn't that hard, the hard part I think is the frameworks and its concepts, very very steep learning curve (at least for a beginner like myself).
- Would playing The Sims in another language be a good way to learn that language? I play The Sims a lot anyway. There's a lot of volcabulary like household objects, emotions, everyday tasks etc This wouldn't be my only way of learning btw. I also have a learning French iphone app and a friend who is fluent.
- Is there an inexpensive way to develop an app? I'm a college student with a few ideas for iPhone apps that I would like to release. The only problem is that the cost for developing one seems to be a little on the high side for me and is money I don't really have at the moment (I have less than $500 saved up). Does anyone have any recommendations on what would be the most inexpensive way to develop a quality app for IPhones and Android devices?
- I want to buy a macbook pro to develop iphone app development? I want to switch to mac from windows. I play games in pc i.e windows. my main concern to switch to mac is to develop ios applications for iphone, ipad. is 13 inch 2.5ghz non retina display model is good enough to develop applications using xcode.
- How to develop iphone apps on Windows 7? I would like to develop iphone apps on Windows 7 using objective C. I know the final procedure will still require an apple product to upload the app to the apple market. But I would like to know if there's any IDEs for development using objective C in windows 7 besides installing Mac OS on pc or a mac os vmware?
