Can I have charges pressed against me?

My husband's employer does a lot of illegal activity. Stealing money, not paying taxes, fraud at the bank. My husband has not been employed there since June and has been unsuccessfully trying to get his iphone billing address changed to our address. My husband purchased the iphone about a year ago. His employer agreed to pay the payment about four months ago. I believe he made 3 payments. When my husband was let go, he let the company know that the phone was to be changed so that he could make payments. Since he was let go he has been working for my company, which is in the same field as his employer's company. His previous employer found out yesterday, and decided to have his phone turned off and a pre paid paid phone sent to him in order to get my husband's business contacts. Today he called our home and I went off. I threatened to report him for all of his illegal activity. I used profanity. Can he press charges against me?

Added (1). My husband never signed a no compete clause. His ex employer can take his phone even if my husband bought the phone over a year ago? His employer only made 2 or 3 payments. Most of which were late, resulting in VZW threatening to shut the phone off. We found out about his ex-employers illegal activity right before my husband quit, which is why he quit. Also, he was not being paid. His employer owed him $2, 000.

I don't really care what illegal activity this man does. I would just like him to leave us alone, which is why I threatened him. I didn't mean to use profanity, but all I saw was red when he called our home.

You can't have charges pressed against you for threatening to report him for his illegal activity and using profanity. Go ahead and report him.

Maybe, but i doubt he will. The best thing tou can do is document his illegal activity if you don't have proof already and threaten to report him if doesn't leave you alone or better yet you can hit him where it hurts by blackmailing him to give you money. I wouldn't tell the police because it seema like you have been doing illegal stuff to. No need to yell i would go the route of confusing and veiled threats to him that frighten and confuse him.hint that there are other unknown people you know that could possibly cause him physical harm in the future or blackmail him into getting money. All of these things will buy you time until you and your husband decide what to do.

Charges for profanity would be a waste of the Court's time. You can deny you used profanity and if he recorded you without telling you and without a warrant, it is not admissible anyway

Allowing the ex boss to pay the phone bill technically makes it a company phone.

It was also stupid of your husband to put your business contacts on that phone. He should have written off the iphone, and gotten a new phone under a completely different service.

If hubby signed some kind of contract with the ex boss, saying he couldn't work at the same kind of business for x amount of time after quitting/fired he could be in hot water.

I don't know if he can try to take you to court on anything but you should have kept your mouth shut. It makes you look bad, you don't know for sure he's doing illegally, and you used profanity. Not ladylike at all, lol and frankly makes you look like an @$$ and unprofessional.

If you think you have something on someone, you don't warn them ahead of time you're going to report them. You just do it.
