Can I use free Wi-Fi hotspots in Europe?
Hi
My question is based on costs!
When on holiday in France, will my Iphone and Ipad cost to use if I find free hotspots?
If I turn off the location services I assume the service provider can't see me?
You can use free Wi-Fi in Europe. McDonalds or Starbucks generally have free Wi-Fi.
What you need to do is go into airplane mode, this will disable all data service and the ability to call and text, as well as things like location services and bluetooth. If you find any open Wi-Fi networks than just turn on your Wi-Fi (while the devices are in airplane mode) and you can connect without paying, assuming the Wi-Fi is a regular network and not one you pay for. Go to the "settings" application to turn on airplane mode
- Trouble with Wi-Fi hotspots? I'm on my wi-fi at home, and apparently my DSi can't use it or something, so since my iphone's on the Wi-Fi, I'm wondering if making a personal hotspot would be kind of like a go-between. So what I'm asking is, if I make a hotspot with my phone (That's on AT&T wi-fi), will it use up my personal data? I have very limited data so I'd like to know before I try it.
- No contract Wi-Fi hotspots for video streaming, web browsing etc? Any good deals out there for internet sources? Living in an apartment and the main person has their internet hooked up in the house which doesn't work good in my room. Looking for something I can use to stream Netflix and browse on iPad and iPhone
- Macbooks and iPhones with personal hotspots? So I noticed on my macbook that when I click the Wi-Fi icon, my iPhone pops up and I can activate a personal hotspot from the laptop. This might be a big concern for me; if, for example, I'm in an airport, can a random person with a macbook activate a personal hotspot from my phone without me knowing? Or is it specific to my laptop since my phone has synced to it multiple times?
- How I can unlock my Iphone 3gs from At&t and use it in Europe on T-mobile? I bought my I phone locked on At&t and I want to use it in Europe on T-mobile network. How I can do that. Do I need to call At&t or there's another way?
