Can't restore iPhone 5 backup to new iPhone 6s?
I bought a new iPhone 6S today and I was hoping to set it up from a previous backup. When I try to use the backup from my iPhone 5, it says the software is too old? Is there a way to transfer my iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6S?
(My iPhone 5 has the Apple Beta software installed onto it if that has anything to do with it.)
Yes. It has everything to do with it! It means the backup can't be restored.
- When you restore an iphone from itunes backup does it restore messages? I need to restore my iPhone 4S in iTunes, will I lose my messages or will it leave the messages from my most recent back up?
- What does set up as new iphone and restore from backup mean? I have an ipod touch and I have many pictures, apps, and music on it. And now I have an iphone. I plugged my iphone in, and "Set up as new iphone or restore from the back up of" popped up. What happens if I set up as new iphone? What happens if I restore from back up? What do you suggest? I don't want to delete anything from my Ipod or my Iphone. I don't want apps, music, texts, or photos to be deleted. What should I do?
- Restore new iPhone with only some backup? My old Iphone 4 which was 32GB was stolen and so I bought a new iPhone 4 but its only 4GB. When I try to restore it with my old iphone's backup it says its incompatible and I'm assuming this is because there's too much memory needed for the smaller space. Is there a way I can only put my contacts on to save memory?
- Restore backup to new iPhone? I would like to restore backup from my old iPhone to my new iPhone in iTunes. Will the high scores of the applications also be restored?
