Connecting an iPad, iPhone and iMac?

We're purchasing an iphone, ipad and an iMac and jsut wondering if its posible to sync the three, such as calendar.photos, videos, music, reminders etc. I know apple talks about icloud though i'm unsure of how that works, i will create a apple id, but just wondering if i can sync info like calendar appointments over Wi-Fi automatically and photos via phtostream.
as much info as possible would be good

You can sync your computer's contacts, calendars, notes, Safari bookmarks, and email account information with your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. You can't expand the iTunes libraries of both an iOS device and a computer by syncing them.

The expectation of Apple is that you use iTunes to share files. The sync process is all about putting your computer's files on the iOS device while erasing the files on the iOS device. This is a perpetual misunderstanding for most people who don't realize that iTunes "sync" means "same" as in making one device (the iOS device) become exactly the same songs and movies as the other device (the computer). It DOES NOT mean copying music and movies both ways to increase the files on both.

Undoubtedly, most people want this last option, so there are plenty of file copying options available, links below.
