Convert video file to use it on iPhone iMovie?
Now this might be a little confusing, but I'll try to be as clear as possible.
Basically my laptop can't run any video editing software. I do, however, have iMovie on my iPhone. It's definitely not ideal, but fine for just simple cuts. I shoot my videos with a DSLR.
If I was to convert the video file to be compatible, could I 'bring in' my video file onto my iPhone, and edit with iMovie? I know, I know… Sounds like a head ache. And if so, would the format be MP4?
Possible. Source video must be compatible. Output will be mp4 or mov
IMovie on iPhone supports mp4 and mov video well. If you don't know how to convert video to iMovie compatible video, this step by step tutorial will help you a lot.
It is easy to convert files from one format to another. Since, you want to edit a video captured from DSLR, follow the steps below:
1. Check the video format by syncing it to your Mac. If it is not.mp4 or.mov, you will have to download a free app "Miro Video Converter" from the Mac App Store.
2. The app has an iPhone format that is supported for all iPhones. Convert the video and sync it to your iPhone.
3. Now you can use iMovie to edit it. I also use Game Your Video app for iPhone video editing. It is the best FREE iPhone app for videos.https://itunes.apple.com/app/id496232649
- Why won't my iPhone open up a iMovie file sent from my Mac? I made an iMovie on my mac and want it on my phone. I tried emailing and texting the iMovie to my phone and it says that 'Mail can't open this attachment'. How can I get it on my phone?
- Why is iMovie taking FOREVER to export a five minute video? Please, I really really really need an answer As soon as possible of how to fix this or how long it's going to take. I'm trying to export a five and a half minute long video to youtube from my iphone 5 and it's taking so long. How long do you expect it to take on a medium file size?
- Trying to convert itunes song to ringtone, file name not showing up with.m4a? I've found several step by step instructions on how to turn an itunes song into a ringtone for my iphone. I make the song 30 seconds, create an aac version, hit show in windows explorer, but then the next step says change the ".m4a" in the song title file name to ".m4r". The only problem is the file name just shows up with the normal song title, no ".m4a". Any idea what i'm doing wrong?
- My video i made from iphone to imovie is WIDE? I shot some scenes on my iphone then uploaded them to my mac, then made a movie with them in imovie. Only problem is the shots are WIDE… Rediculously wide. Is there anyway i can make it look normal again?/ Any help is much appreciated!
