The standard Apple warranty (and most other manufacturers) doesn't cover user damage; whether or not it was accidental.

- Will my iPhone still be under warranty? A few months ago I cracked the back of my phone and the other day I picked up my phone and the lock button won't work. I know it's still under warranty because of when I bought it, but because it's cracked can they not fix the lock button for free?
