Did rice help your water damaged iphone 4s?

Not even a hour ago, I took a shower and I guess my curtains of the showers weren't fully closed and it water damaged my phone. I come out of my shower with it wet but still on thankfully. It was acting wacky, the volume said it was on headphones and all of that. I couldn't turn it off because it wouldn't let me slid on the screen due to the water, so i took of my case and my screen protecter and dry it out with a towel, and put it on a bucket of rice(brown rice hopefully it still works) my sister dropped her iphone in a bucket of water before and just in a day after in a ziplock of water, it still worked. And as well as my friend who dropped it in a sink of water, put it in rice for a day and it worked perfectly fine. I want to know more success stories about rice for water damage repair, and will mine work if i keep it in the bucket of rice for the whole day or more?

Yes, the rice should work. The rice will pull water molecules from the phone. Just ensure that you keep it in the rice approximately 24 hours. You can put the rice with the phone in it beside moderate heat, this will speed up the process of water being sucked from the phone. Not too much heat though!
And please avoid using things such as blow dryer to dry your phone. That heat from blow dryer can damage your phone circuit board.
Good luck.
Your phone should work fine in the next 24 or so hours.

My Iphone4s worked fine after I spilled water by accident. And my BB 9300 3G worked perfectly after It fell in my pool. You see its not really electricity. If our phones used electricity they would have worn out the chips etc but because of low voltage the phone doesn't wear out. But even without rice just take a hair dryer and the phone will work fine again. No need for rice. Rice just takes long.

  • Water damaged iPhone and no rice? My iPhone went through a washing machine. It's been a couple of days and because I'm a college kid, I don't exactly keep dry rice in my dorm. I stuck it in easy mac, wrapped it in a coffee filter, and two paper towels. Does anyone know if this will work? When I plugged it into the computer like 5 minutes ago it turned on, but the touch was messed up and I couldn't unlock it or anything. The little guy's fighting for his life.
  • Water damaged IPhone 5s! Been in rice 24hours? It looked much better after being in the rice but now I'm noticing moisture behind the screen. It's like it's creeping in slowly. Is there anything I can do to prevent this getting worse until I can afford to get it fixed?
  • My iPhone 6S dropped in water, will the rice help the keyboard? READ DETAILS So it fell in water and I didn't turn it off right away until my brother told me to. So when I tried to text my friend the keyboard was typing random letters then I restarted the phone and now I can't even use the keyboard. Will the rice help the keyboard?
  • IPHONE 5C WATER DAMAGE? Will putting it in rice help it? I dropped my phone 5c in water and didn't notice so it sat there for quite a while… But when I took it out it was working perfectly fine! I put it in rice and checked it again two hours later and it said that the battery had died. I plugged it in and it was charging like usual so I figured there was nothing wrong with it, I kept it in the rice anyways. Six hours later I took it out again and the screen won't turn on, and it does not respond to charging it either.
