Difference between quad core processor and 32/64 bit processor?

I heard the iphone 5 and 5c have 32 bit processors? Does that mean they have gHz as well or is that worked out in a different way in the 32/64 bit processor? I heard 5s has 64 bit making it twice as fast as 32 bit.

Also, what do you think will happen once the limit is reached for processors in smartphones? I mean, you could go faster and faster but up to a point you increasing the speed will have no real purpose because we can only process the information on the screen (with our eyes and brains) so fast… You know what I mean?

The number of cores a processor has doesn't affect whether or not the processor is 64-bit or 32-bit. All of them will also be measured in hertz (for this type of processor, it will indeed be measured in GHz.) 64-bit processors aren't twice as fast as 32-bit processors, it's just that they are required to run 64-bit software.

Comparing two completely different types of processors solely on how many cycles they can complete per second, measured in hertz, isn't a good comparison. There are many other variables. Two of the same brand and model of processors, though, will be more comparable using this measurement.

Don't worry about whether your phone's processor is 64 or 32-bit. It won't matter to you, I promise.

You might think that we will someday no longer require faster processors, but there will always be more complex problems that can be done once processors are fast enough to do them; it just requires the right programming to put that power to use.

64bit will have alot more benefit when memory gets much higher, its the future for sure, just like it was with computers. 5S is the 64 bit phone today, and anyone not on 64 bit is still scrambling trying to play catchup, but its not an easy move to make.
