Do highschool sweethearts ever last?

I mean, I understand they have a TON of changing in maturing to do. And some either grow together or grow apart. But I've heard from other people "they don't because they haven't dated around. What if they are missing out on other people?"

I think that's ridiculous. You could say the same thing to a married couple in their 40s. It seems as though nothing is ever good for some people. "I need to get the iPhone 5 because Its newer and better" "I'm so sick of this perfectly fine house because I've lived here for 10 years" "I can't date my highschool sweetheart of 10 years because there are more fish in the sea!"

Am I just stupid? Or does anyone else agree?

Some do and some don't. I know a few high school sweethearts that are still married.

My grandparents have been together since they were 12! Everyone and everything is different though, so It's impossible to say.

I met the guy I love when I was 15. Now I'm 18 and still with him. I didn't meet him through the same school I just met him through mutual friends.

But anyways some people say if you're 16 or older it's highly likely that you've already met the person you're going to marry.

There's always college and beyond. I feel college would be a more likely place to meet someone. But you never really know.

I just feel that sometimes when people marry their high school "sweetheart" nowadays… Or marry YOUNG it always ends in divorce. But keep in mind it's the person. Make sure you know who you are marrying before jumping to your "I do's"

YES THEY CAN! I know of a HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART COUPLE that have been Married for 30 YEARS! QUITE OUTSTANDING! And YES, some SWEETHEART Couples don't last once they are out of HS and into the REAL WORLD! Jobs, Bills, Kids, a place to live! REALITY CHECK!
