Do pictures make you look bigger than you actually are?
I saw a picture of me n i looks so fat n short. Are pictures what you actually look like?
Added (1). the pictures were taken with an iphone
Iphone = wide angle lens
Wide angle lens + being too close to the subject = perspective distortion
Perspective distortion on human faces/bodies can make them look round and fat, or squished, or even stretched.
IPhones have wide angle lenses. Even a 6 foot 120 pound person could look heavy when shot with a wide angle lens.
Have your friend back off about six feet or more and then take a shot of you. You should look 10 pounds lighter.
If you are taking a selfie, then you need something like an XShot extender.

No pictures capture what you actually look like, unless edited by a filter on your iPhone.

I don't think so. Because we also consider light factor.
maybe its because of the light refraction. When it go through a medium, light is bent. And what was originally straight, will be curved.
- Why does some of the photos that I take with my iPhone 6 so much bigger than the other photos? I didn't change any of the settings in my phone as I have been taking one photo after the other. I don't think it is a burst shot either because I do not hold the capture button for long. So I'm expecting all photos to be relatively the same. Some photos even reached 200MB! I'm puzzled atm…
- What shows what you actually look like? I look good in the mirror but on camera I'm hideous. I use my iPhone 5s' camera and I look bad front and back. My drivers license photo looks more like what I look like in the mirror but if course I had this really crazy smile cause I had just turned 16 xD but I don't get it why can't I take a good picture? Or do the mirrors just make you look better than you are?
- Recommend newish smart phones no bigger than iPhone 6? I know very little about smartphones and their rankings and such, as I still have the same phone from over 4 years ago. I want nothing bigger than the iPhone 6 as I value how comfy a phone is inside a pocket.
- One eye bigger than the other? I'm 13 and I barley noticed that when I take pictures on my iPhone using camera one of my eye is bigger/smaller than the other, but when I use retrica app it looks quite normal. My mom said when I was being born the doctor accidental jabbed my eye with a tool thingy. How do I make this less noticeable?
