Does backing up your iPhone also save the ios version?
I currently have an iPhone 4 that has ios 6 on it. I'm getting a new phone, because I'm switching carriers, and I do not want ios 7. If I back up my iPhone on my iTunes and re-upload its information onto my new iPhone, will it keep ios 6, or will I be stuck with ios 7?
No it does not. If it comes with iOS 7 (which it most likely would anyway) then that's what you'd be running.
- What does 'Backing up your Ipod/Iphone' do? So in a few weeks i'm getting a new iphone. Right now I have the Iphone 4, and Ipod 5. When ever I plug in my Ipod or Iphone into my MacBook at the top it always says Backing Up. I want to know what this is. And everything it does. Will it be a bad idea since me and my Mom share a computer? Also is there a way I can get all my apps, photos, notes, etc on to my new phone without re-downloading everything?

So I want to transfer most of my photos onto my laptop then delete them from my phone. I have a pc so I had to download iTunes, I backed up my phone twice already.
