What does backing up your iPhone do?
I have an iPhone 5s 16gb and have only about 200mb of storage left. Most of the storage is from my photos. So I want to transfer most of my photos onto my laptop then delete them from my phone. I have a pc so I had to download iTunes, I backed up my phone twice already. So is it safe to delete my photos from my phone?
Technically, no. Backing up your phone just creates a file with everything on your phone in it. You won't be able to access your pictures from the iPhone backup.
If you open up 'My Computer' while your phone is plugged in, you should see it pop up and be able to go into it and manually save the pics to your computer. After you've done that, you can delete the pics off the phone.
- When you sync your iphone to your computer does it copy everything onto your pc? I have broke my iphone to the point where it is un repairable, i only sync my iphone the other day to my pc does this mean everything what was on my iphone was copied and saved to it? Or have i lost everything?
- What does 'Backing up your Ipod/Iphone' do? So in a few weeks i'm getting a new iphone. Right now I have the Iphone 4, and Ipod 5. When ever I plug in my Ipod or Iphone into my MacBook at the top it always says Backing Up. I want to know what this is. And everything it does. Will it be a bad idea since me and my Mom share a computer? Also is there a way I can get all my apps, photos, notes, etc on to my new phone without re-downloading everything?
- Restoring iPhone and backing it up? -Well my iPhone 4S has been going in and out of 3G to the no service circle a lot lately so I've read it's Apple recommended to restore your iPhone. -Now, my iPhone is backed up on my computer, but my question is, when I restore my iPhone back to factory default, am I still allowed to back it up after the restore so I don't lose all my contacts (300 contacts), pictures, etc. -Idk I'm a total noob when it comes to backup and restore for the iPhone: p.
- Is there a difference between backing up your iphone on icloud and itunes? I reset my phone and couldn't find the backup on iTunes however I found it on iCloud, is there any difference between the backup?
