Does Cold weather drain phone''s Battery?
I'm just wondering if using a cell phone in a very cold weather drains the battery. I was outside today and my battery percentage rapidly dropped, also it shut down sometimes. It has happened on both my iPhone and Samsung
I've also been wondering this.
I think so and also have heard hot weather can effect a cell phone as well.
It's not draining the battery, the cold is slowing down the chemical process within and causing it to put out less power. Lithium-ion batteries really don't like the cold.
Cold batteries perform poorly.
Extreme cold can damage them.
It shouldn't but if might affect charging
- Why does my Iphone lose battery in cold weather? I have an Iphone 5 and i usually keep it charging, but when it's like on 70% and i'm outside in 15-40 degree weather, all of a sudden it says that I only have 20% left, than about 1 minute later it says I have 10% left and than 20 seconds later, it dies. This has happened around 5 times and my question is why does my phone do this? And how can I fix it so it doesn't happen anymore?

I want to know what app this is so I can download it. She had an IPhone. I was going to ask what it was but before I got a chance they called her in the back.
