Does instagram drops image quality?
I've been using instagram on iOS. I heard that instagram on android devices drops image quality badly but on iOS the things are not disastrous. Recently I've uploaded a photo through my iphone on instagram. I've found that the original file size was like 1.3mb. But the post processed file through instagram app is around 850kb. I've checked exif data of both the unprocessed and the processed files. It showed that both of the files contain same amount of pixels. But why the processed image file has a smaller size?! Does that mean it dropped the image quality?!
No but it drops life quality lawyer up get gym suit up
All social media websites like IG, flickr, facebook, etc… Will reduce the size of your images that you upload the same way regardless if you upload files using a laptop, desktop, iOS or android.
They do this by increasing the compression of the image. When an image is compressed, the computer looks at a pixel and then compares its color and brightness to the surrounding pixels. It then removes those pixels and replaces them with a single color. At the lowest compression rate, the pixels that are being removed are going to be very similar in brightness and color. However, as you increase the compression, the deviation will be larger and larger depending upon how much compression is being applied. Too much compression will lead to color banding which is easily and most often seen in areas with solid colors and little to no texture or detail such as the sky, for example.
The problems arise during the compression because not every sight uses the same compression algorithms. Some sites do a much better job at it than others. This is why it's best to use a good photo-editing program like Lightroom to reduce the resolution and do the compression because Lightroom will do a much better job at than most websites can. You should download Lightroom mobile which is a free app.

- Why does my iPhone receive good quality videos as bad quality videos? So I recently met a famous guy in concert and when I got a picture wth him I was getting a video and my friend used her phone to video it. So she sent it to me and it was like terrible quality and the video was like little with a huge black border around it. But yet it looks perfectly fine on her phone? How do I fix it? Whenever I try to get video editing apps it always says error & only with that particular video. I have an iPhone 5c, and so does my friend.
- My internet connection randomly drops until I disconnect and reconnect to the router? My internet connection randomly drops until I disconnect my computer from the router then reconnect. It is only the internet connection that drops, the router signal/connection remains and my NAS can still be accessed. Sometimes it goes hours without loosing connection, sometimes it's minutes. I'm using a macbook pro with mountain lion installed, and the same issue occurs with my iphone. My network set up is essentially the modem > switch > router > laptop/iphone.
- Just got Spotify Premium. Switched the music quality to extreme, and the quality isn't good? There must be something that I have to do because the quality sounds the same, even though I switched it to extreme. I made sure that I wasn't imagining it - I played my iTunes copy and it sounded so much better. This is the iPhone app, if that matters. What's the solution?
- IPhone apps to edit images that minimally reduce image quality? If I transfer photos from my Olympus em10 camera to my iPhone and edit them, they generally lose quality (understandably). I was just wondering whether anyone knew of any apps which I could use to reduce this?
