Does iOS6.1.3 use massive amounts of data?
I have an iPhone 4s on iOS6.1.3. I have been given an iPhone 4 running iOS4 something… I'm not sure if upgrading it to iOS6 will take massive amounts of internet data. It doesn't matter on the one i have now because I have unlimited internet but my other contract only has 500mb of internet per month and I don't want to go over that… Will iOS6 make it go over?
Its not the operating system that does that. Its the apps you use & how long you use them while on a 3G/4G connection.
If you connect your iPhone 4 to your home Wi-Fi (or a public Wi-Fi hotspot) while downloading and installing the update, it will only use the home/public Wi-Fi data, which will not come out of your mobile allowance.
Alternatively, you can connect the phone to your computer via usb, and update that way. That will also use your home internet.
- Why don't Climate Change Supporters care at all about the massive environmental damage caused by our ballooning population? CO2 is comparatively simple to eliminate than giving up iPhones because they require rare earth metals; and it isn't like our consumer waste just disappears when we throw it away. We can destroy as many habitats as needed… Exterminate as many species as needed so we have room for more housing, factories, and other disgusting human creations.
- Why does my iphone use data over night when cellular data is turned off? Every night I turn off cellular data and leave the iPhone on and one day I wake up and check my data manager and see i have already used 25 MB please help!
- When you use the amazon cloud on you iphone does that use data? Okay so for Christmas I got an iphone 4s and I have music on the amazon cloud that I want to listen to on my iphone. I have to be careful with how much data I use (especially since my brother can go a bit overboard) So I was just wondering whether just listening to the music on the amazon cloud uses data or not.
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
