The phone itself has excellent GPS hardware; however, don't use the built-in Apple Maps app. It's better than it was when they first released it, but for accurate maps and directions, get the Google Maps app.

I have used the mapquest app (free) for a long time now but only because I'm used to it, the Apple maps I hear are very good now.

It is definitely not the brightness, because the brightness is set to 100% and its way too dark anyway. I tried restoring my phone and turning it on and off, but nothing is working. Please help. What do I do? I literally threw it out of anger and its fixed.

- Does Iphone GPS app have audio? Just signed up for UBER and will be using old 4s Iphone for time being. Do the mapquest or uber app come with voice GPS? Makes things easier. Sorry I'm old
