Does it make sense to own an iPad, a MacBook Pro, and an iPhone 4S?

I'm going to college next year for Art Teacher Education and Graphic Design, and I already own an iPhone 4S, and I'm buying a MacBook Pro (non-retina version), and i was wondering if i should get an iPad also. Because some apps for art and design are hard to navigate on the computer, and not compatible for iPhone. Is it crazy? Haha. And NO cracks about Apple and iOS and OS being crap. I have owned a PC for 14 years and Macs/Apple are much better in my opinion.

Whether it maks sense or not, it depends on what do you think. I think you can try a android device so you can do more things.

I personally don't find a need for an iPad, period.
You do need a MacBook Pro, an iMac and maybe an iPhone, unelss if you can live with any other (cheaper) smartphone.

Personally, I NEED the iMac and the Macbook. You no longer need an ipod or ipad if you have an iphone (technically).

  • Which should I get, Apple ipad pro OR Macbook Air? I can't decide which I want, and which is the better option. I like the ipad pro (most likely the 12.9) because of the touch, pencil and the app store. I like the macbook air because its light, still integrates with my iphone, great battery life and the ability to run programs. This device won't be used for anything crazy. I still have a windows laptop thats used quite a bit. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I don't know how useful it will be since they are not likely to use it outside of their home and i'll be getting the non 3g version so it won't be much use when they take it out anyway.

I don't want it to sit around after a few months and be a waste of money. What legitimate reason should i have to purchase one?
