Does texting someone with an iPhone use up data?
I recently purchased and iphone and someone told me that if I send a text from my iPhone to someone else with an iPhone, that it will use my data. Is this true? I have unlimited texting and 1gb data plan through AT&T.
Not necessarily. It actually sends it through iMessage, which is like an exclusive club for iPhone users.
Texting isn't data… You're fine
Texting does not use up your Internet data plan.
Don't know why the question of if texts using data is suddenly popping up. Texts never have & still don't require data/internet access on any phone.
Yes, Marissa,
But if you switch to Wi-Fi than its all free n your data won't be wasted or used.
- Why does my iphone use data over night when cellular data is turned off? Every night I turn off cellular data and leave the iPhone on and one day I wake up and check my data manager and see i have already used 25 MB please help!
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
- Texting notification to the person I'm texting? How do I change on my iPhone 5s so the person I'm texting doesn't see that I'm texting them with the bubble
- If I keep my data on but also use Wi-Fi will it use my data? I just got an iPhone from us cellular. I use Wi-Fi to save data, but I can't receive group messages if my data isn't on. If I keep my data on all the time, but use Wi-Fi, will it use my data? And if I keep both on will it use my Wi-Fi instead of data?
