Does trying to downgrade iOS void my warranty?
I have an iPhone 4S and I tried to downgrade back to iOS 6.1.3 after I updated to iOS 7.0.4 but it didn't work and it just showed an error code. Will Apple void my warranty for doing this? If so I'm only 13 so if this happens I can't afford a new one.
The only way you could have downgraded your iOS back to 6.1.3 was to have backed up your blobs while you were still running 6.1.3. That's probably why you got the error code. And even if you had backed up the blobs, downgrading isn't easy unless you know what you're doing. Also, tampering with the software is a good way to void your warranty. And I'm assuming that you wanted to downgrade so you could either jailbreak it or rejailbreak it because you lost the jailbreak when you updated. Jailbreaking your device voids warranty also. But since all you got was an error code and you're still running iOS 7, with no real signs of it being tampered with, you should be in the clear.
- Will taking my iPhone to a cellphone repair shope void the warranty? There's a cell phone repair shop nearby my house. The top button of my iPhone 5 has become unresponsive. I've only had it since December. I went to the apple store, but they wanted to replace the entire phone. I thought that was crazy just for a button. Will taking my iPhone to a cell phone repair shop just to see what they say or if they can fix it end up making my warranty void?
- Will scratches and minor dents void my iPhone 4's warranty? Yesterday I called apple because my lock screen button had been pushed in, I was told that as long as it hadn't been dropped, which it hadn't, that it should be replaced at the spot but I'd have to bring it into an apple store. Now what's worrying me is that there's a few scratches around my lock button because I used to like wearing long acrylic nails and using them to take debris out of in between the button. Will this void my warranty in any way?
- Will getting my iPhone 4S unlocked by my carrier void my warranty? I'm currently on T-Mobile, but wish to switch to GiffGaff. If I ring up T-Mobile and pay the required cost to get it unlocked, will it void my warranty?
- If I unlock my iphone 4s will it void warranty? I just recently bought a iphone 4s. I have a warranty on it, but if I unlock my iphone 4s, and then something bad happens to it, will Apple still cover me for a replacement? Let me know thanks!
