Earphones keep turning up and down my volume on my iPhone?

Apple earbuds, iPhone 6s, the volume doesn't creep up or down it'll happen rapidly and occasionally it will pause what I'm listening to as well. I know that the little remote on apple earphones can pause and control volume so I was wondering if it's more likely my earphones are broken or my actual iPhone, or maybe I need to clean the headphone jack.

Sounds like maybe the remote in the earphones is malfunctioning and causing it but the only way to know for sure and the easiest way is just by using another pair of earphones. If it continues then its your phone, if it doesn't then it was the earphones.

  • Replace iphone 5 speaker and volume down button? Fix it or something? So this morning I dropped my phone in the toilet with an otterbox case on it. Everything is fine except for my speakers, one of which is full sounding and the other doesn't work at all. My volume down button also doesn't work. What do I do? I've had my phone since January
