Ebay Seller threatening me with police and court?

I bought an iphone off ebay which was stuck in recovery loop. But when I took the phone to apple, they said it was water damaged.

I raised a case and ebay refunded me. However the seller got my number and started saying to me accusing me of opening the phone.

He's saying I opened the phone and there are parts missing. But I haven't done anything of the sorts. As soon as apple told me it was water damaged, I raised the case to get it returned because I don't want to risk opening this myself.

But he's still accusing me no matter what I say. I'm genuinely worried now. I know I shouldn't be because I'm not in the wrong, but it's worrying me a lot now.

He's threatened to call the police and I'm worried. I know i shouldn't be because in not in the wrong. But I can't help it because I've never been in a situation involved with the police. Ever

He's even threatening me with the court

What should I do. My feedback speaks for itself and I have returned items before for damaged/faulty items and no one has ever complained.

It's a scam, he is just trying to scam you.

He has no authority to impose any "court" on you, let alone obtain any police involvement.

He is threatening you because you have told apple and if you get him into any trouble he could be arrested for selling something that's not working but he already knew that and sold it to you regardless. So he is threatening you because he doesn't want to get in trouble. However, this would get him into more trouble so just call the police and tell them you are being continuously harassed/threatened and they will sort him out.

He's obviously trying to scam you. Ignore him, or maybe add his harrasing behavior to the feedback.

The Police wouldn't be interested as it's a civil matter. He can threaten all he likes, but it won't get him anywhere. As long as you have had your money back I wouldn't worry about it. If he continues to threaten you then inform the Police.

YOU call the police for harressment
and tell the seller so. Any more calls and 'you' will be the one calling the police (in fact do so anyway)

if you tell ebay also, and they will have the seller removed most likely
So tell the seller to stop or that is what you will do.

what can the seller prove
YOU have proof - the apple shop proof.
The seller has nothing except being annoyed that they did not know about the water damage markers inside the phone (all phones esp apple ones have them).

The ebay seller has no legal ground for any criminal complaint. It's up to the seller to prove that you caused the damage. The fact that you filed a complaint with ebay after taking the phone to an authorized service agent for the phone puts you in a good position in the case. If this person continues to harass you then file a formal complaint against them with ebay and get their account sanctioned.

Tell him to get lost it is a bluff
