Found an locked iPhone, how to use it?
Ok so my dad works for the train station and he found an iPhone 4s and after 30 days if no one came for it, he could keep it. Before you say give it back to the owner, it's too late. So I restored it and it's set up like an regular new iPhone but when I try to activate it I need the person's iTunes account to activate the phone. Is there a way to still use it without the account? So I can just use it as an iPod touch?
Added (1). Also they did try to find the owner, nobody came looking for it. This is how all train station workers are set up.
Give it back to the owner
Careful what you do that phone. You never know if it's bait for either a hacker or an FBI agent. I don't see why you're that desperate for an iPhone. They're honestly not the best smart phone you can get. Give it back to the Apple Store. They will either contact the owner or they will deactivate that phone.
Don't take s**t that's not yours. Someone paid good hard working money for that phone.
Apple ID locked means you have a neat little package of spare parts
How is it ever too late? It's still the owner's phone. Even if he replaced it It's still his phone. If the owner replaced it he still needs his phone either as a backup in case the replacement phone bricks or is lost. Or he can sell it for money. Because it's that person's phone and not your phone.
You can't, thats what locked means. The original owner has to unlock it.
- I found an iphone 4s that's locked. How can I unlock it and use it? I work at a bar and people leave their phones all the time. I had an iphone 4, but it recently broke. I took an iphone 4s that has been at my work for the last 4 months. I was hoping to use it. The only problem is their is a passcode on the phone. How can I unlock it and wipe it to use it? Sorry I forgot to mention this phone has been sitting in our lost and found for quite some time. I did not steal it.
- I found a iphone 5s and It was locked but I managed to pass icloud? I found a iphone 5s and It was locked but I managed to pass icloud. So my question is if I'm going to be able to connect it even if it was reported stolen?
- I found a found and nobody called. ITs been a month. What should i do? I found a iphone 5 and i factory reseted it after nobody called for about a month. A message from the owner showed up after reseting it and I called that number and texted it repeatedly but no answer. So i'm thinking of giving it to my sister since her phone broke but its locked from icloud. What can i do? I have the phones MEID & IMEI number. - What are my options? Its a waste to just throw it away.
- Found locked iPhone can I delete its info and use it? I found an iPhone on the ground and turned it into the police and nobody claimed it so they legally gave it back to me. It's lovked and tells me to connect to iTunes. Is there a way I can restart it and use it?
