Found iPhone, can i activate it on my network?

I found an iphone at the mall like a year ago (forgot about it) and have tried to contact the person who it originally belonged to recently and have had no luck. I believe the phone was on T-Mobile. I have Verizon, so if I still can't find the owner, or assuming the owner found a new phone a year later. Would I be able to activate the phone onto my network? & how?

Added (1). It's an iPhone 4 btw

Added (2). Yeah i know, but if your iphone was unlocked and you had a tmobile sim card you could activate it on tmobile (i've done it before) is there NO way possible? The phone has a sim card slot so it's GSM, could i just change the sim? Or do i have to jailbreak it?

Tmobile didn't have the iphone a year ago, its probably att.
there's no way to make a att iphone work on Verizon.
also if it was reported lost or stolen it will be blcklisted and useless as a iphone.
if your in PA and need a Verizon iphone, email me I have a few for trade or sale

You need to take it to a shop to get it unlocked as it will be locked to that micro-sim if you already have a nano-sim just put it in by finding a small hole (not the one next to the headphone jack, thats the microphone!) and put a paperclip into it. A small tray will pop out contaning the old nano-sim replace it with yours and you're good to go!
If you don't have a nano-sim you can buy one or get one for free from your carrier.
.
If you can't find the sim tray you may need to open the back… This will require a small screwdriver
