How to avoid being charged for data plan?
My brother put his old SIM into both a Blackberry and an iPhone and our family got charged for data plan. I don't know why that happened.
I want a phone but it requires data plan, which I don't want and don't want to pay for. If I buy it online without a contract, GSM, unlocked and is with Att (my current carrier) and put my old SIM in it, will it work (as in make phone calls and text) but not charge me data plan (because it is without a contract)?
Or does the whole 2-year contract and required data plan go hand in hand, and there's no avoiding it.
Any att smartphone requires a data plan.
att will add one as soon as the detect your using a smartphone.
use simple mobile or straight talk
- Will I get charged for using Wi-Fi when my Sprint data plan is shut off? If I turn off the data plan for my iPhone 5 (with the intention if turning it back on), will I get charged for using the Internet using Wi-Fi?
- Will I get charged for using 3G Internet if I have the unlimited data plan? My carrier is Sprint. I have an iPhone 4. I'm asking if I'll be charged if I don't use Wi-Fi.
- Will I be charged a data plan if I buy a factory unlocked iphone? I want to buy a factory unlocked iphone 4s off ebay. I currently have a 3g that's unlocked but I don't believe it's factory unlocked. If I put my sim card into this new 4s will AT&T know and add the data plan? I've heard this can happen before but is it just for people who buy factory unlocked phones through Apple or AT&T or is it for all factory unlocked phones?
- Why am I being charged to send an iPhone message to another iPhone? I have noticed yesterday when I looked at my orange account that they have charged me 3 iPhone messages, I checked and they were sent by iMessage as the colour is blue normally if its been sent my text message it's green, can anyone tell me why this is and if orange will reimburse me the money or take it off my bill
