How much water will it take to damage an IPhone 5s?

I accidentally got a tiny bit of water on my phone. It was on the bottom right corner and it was in the water for no more than 5 seconds. I think only about a teaspoon of water got in the phone and I dried if off right away. I managed to get most of it out. There still might be a drop or two. I turned it on and its working fine, as if nothing happened. Should I keep using it or put it in rice? Is it possible for it to damage my phone or if its working fine now will that mean that it is fine?

I would think your fine, just keep it in a dry spot, if you think its gonna have issues just put it in rice to be safe, but usually they would show right off

It's not the amount of water, but if the electronics is exposed to the water… So the system can short out. If it's working, then you came out lucky. You should be safe to keep using it.

Yeah water can't move anywhere in 5 seconds. Lol

  • Too much water damage iPhone 4S? Ok, so I'm getting bored from using this stupid slow iPhone 3G and I was wondering if I still can use the rice trick for my water damaged phone, my parents don't have much money for a new phone so I can't have a new phone.
  • My iPhone 4 suffered heavy water damage, will it be okay? I went in the pool with it not realizing it was in my pocket. I was in the pool for about 5-10 minutes before I realized it was in my pocket. It was on when I went in the pool but was off when I got out. I now have it sitting in a bowl of rice and I plan on leaving it in there for a week, changing the rice it's in every 24 hours. Does anyone have any insight on this, like if there's any hope of it being okay or is it done for?
  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
  • Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
