How to activate an iphone 4 on verizon?
I just ordered the iphone 4 and it should come in within a day or two. I'm upgrading from the cosmos touch, a basic phone. How can i activate the iphone when it comes in? Will it transfer my contacts? Can I activate/transfer it online or do i have to go into a store?
I haven't gotten a new Verizon phone in some time but when I got my Samsung Reality in August, 2010 they activated it in store. The contacts were on the phone immediately. When you get the phone you can call Verizon (there should be a sticker with a phone number on the phone; pretty much any call you try and make with that phone will go to Verizon) and activate it that way. You shouldn't need to go to a store. In '06 I did activate over the phone - I had lost my phone and got a cheap replacement from eBay.
- My iPhone 5 says I need a sim card to activate, and I have Verizon I was trying to restore my phone and in the process of doing that it now is asking for me to insert a sim card. I have Verizon and we don't require sim cards. What is my next step? Also, my phone has not yet been activated. This requiring of the sim card is keeping me from activating it.

- I purchased a used Verizon iPhone 4 and want to activate it on my Verizon account? A friend uses her dad's old iPhone on her AT&T account as her phone without a data plan. I want to do the same and replace my 12 year old's flip phone. Verizon says I must purchase another data plan to activate this phone to my account. Any suggestions? Otherwise we're thru with Verizon.
