How to airdrop from my iPhone to my MacBook Air?

My Wi-Fi and bluetooth are on and airdrop is set to everyone but my two devices can't seem to find each other… Any help?

There are two ways to use AirDrop…
1) Between Mac computers running OS 10.7 or later
2) Between iOS devices running iOS 7.

There's no official option to use AirDrop between any iOS device and any Mac… Although that will come soon. Get Mac OS 10.10 when it is officially released.

You can now copy files between the two by USB. http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/

  • Why can't AirDrop on new iPhones work with AirDrop on new macs? IOS7 lets you AirDrop files between phones, and Mac OS 10.8 has had an AirDrop feature for the last year or so, but why can't I transfer a file from my phone to my laptop and vice versa easily?
  • Should I get a MacBook Air or an iPhone 5S/5C? I got enough money to buy an iPhone for my birthday, but my mothers says that if I save my money until Christmas, I can get a MacBook Air. My phone is an old samsung galaxy ace, and it has all sorts of problems. It has very limited space and a very short battery life, and is super slow. My family's PC is slow, and is running out of space. I need that space for documents, and to be able to synch my iPad with iTunes. This is a really tough decision, please help!
  • Should I buy the iPhone 5 or Macbook Air? So I'm saving to get one of them but I'm not sure which one! I already have a phone but it's the Nokia C3-00 so it's quite old and I've had it for about 2 1/2 years now. I don't have my own laptop but I share one with my mum and I can use it after school only and I can't take it to school because she uses it for work. (The laptop is an HP laptop not an Apple product.) I also have an iPad Mini.
  • Is the $999 2012 11 Macbook Air good enough for iphone game/app development? I want to make games and apps for iphone and ipod touch so bad but not sure if the specs of the 11" 2012 mba are good enough seeing that the processor is at 1.7 ghz. I plan on upgrading the ram when i buy it to 8gb. Will this mac be good enough to develop games and app for iphone and ipod touch smoothly?
