How to avoid using so much Data?
I used to have Verizon unlimited everything. Now they brought this data plan($$$) were I'm allowed just 10GB a month for two iPhones.
I'm already on 8GB used and I still have 18days to go.
What can happen is I go over?
How can I avoid using so many GB?
Should I use Wi-Fi at home?
Use Wi-Fi at home so the data won't be used then when your out turn on the 3G or 4G whatever you have. Also if you have the 3G or 4G on and your not even using your phone the gigabytes won't be used.
If you go over, they will give you an additional amount (probably 2 GB) and you will be charged an overage of probably $20 or so. Using wi-fit at home will certainly help, but it's probably more important to figure out exactly how you're using so much data.
Using that much data, you must be streaming Pandora music, watching movies, etc. Try doing without so much streaming. Build up your iTunes collection and play music from your own collection. If you are streaming Pandora, go for a lower bit rage. Don't watch movies / TV shows on your phone either. It's a nice novelty thing to do, but if you're on a 'data diet' it could be more expensive than it's actually worth.
Switch to Sprint, UNLIMITED DATA: D! I use 32 gb a month. And I just got 4G LTE here and i get speeds of 18mbps
- Why is my iPhone 5 using so much data? I just got my iPhone 5 four days ago, and I've already gone over my 200mb data plan. Before I had the iPhone, I had a Blackberry Torch 9800, and I've never gone over my data plan. I use the phone the same amount as I used my Blackberry, and I'm connected to Wi-Fi throughout 90% of the day, and rarely use data. So why am I going through my data so quickly?
- When using Kik messenger on iPhone with your data plan, how much mb does it use? I'm getting an iPhone, and I tend to use kik messenger a lot on my blackberry already. How much mb of Internet does Kik use to send and/or receive messages, and picture messages? Is 500mb too low for someone who tends to use it a lot without Wi-Fi? Answers are greatly appreciated.
- Using my O2 free mobile data in Spain - do I turn data roaming on or will this charge? It's now free to text and call and use mobile data in Europe and I'm on contract with O2 and have unlimited everything. I'm just wondering if on my iPhone I have to turn data roaming on to get this or will this charge me? How does it work? As when I turn on my mobile data without data roaming the 3G doesn't work until I actually turn on data roaming?
- Iphone is heating up too much by using cellular data? Whenever i turn on cellular data, te screen and back of my iphone gets very hot after 10 minutes or so. I was wondering if this was normal or there's a problem.
