How to find a package sent to the wrong address?

So i told my mom to send my iPhone. She lives in Washington and i go to school in Tennessee. When she went to California for my sisters wedding rehearsal, she sent my phone from that state. But they were in a hurry so they probably wrote the address wrong. I found this out after waiting for the estimated delivery date to come. It did not come. So i waited a little longer and a week has passed.so i'm pretty sure they wrote the address wrong. I don't feel like losing an expensive phone in the mail… Can any one help me with this?

She should have put her return address on it. Hopefully, it will be returned to her.

If she put her return address on the package, it will eventually make its way back to her. If it was sent with any type of tracking (insured, return receipt requested, etc.), she can have the Post Office track it with that information. But your mom must initiate this. She is the sender.

If she just stuck it in an envelope and scrawled an address on it with no return address, it is is a big warehouse with other parcels that can't be delivered. She can try to recover it, but she will need the serial number off the phone.

And this is why you insure expensive items sent in the mail. Or send them overnight delivery.
