How do you fix an iPhone with water damaged after the phone has dried?

You can you buy a new one

Cheese is the answer. Vote best if you agree.

Your best bet is to not power it on or charge it until it has had well over its required time to dry.

iPhones are particularly susceptible to water damage, Apple even included adhesive that changes color on the device circuit board when it has got wet to identify water damage.

If you don't have insurance or the expensive apple care then your out of luck if the device is defective. It may still fetch a price traded in online though.

  • Trading-in my water damaged phone to a phone company. Can they see my personal data? So i'm trading in my iPhone 6 for a newer version as it is water damaged (it won't turn on or anything) and my phone company said that they can recycle it. Does this mean that once they get it working, they will see all of my personal information, including photos, contacts etc? I've taken the SIM card out but I'm not sure what this contains.
  • My iphone speaker will not work after i water damaged it, is there any fix? I accidently spilled orange juice on my iphone and i thought it was fine as it operated after i wiped it off. I noticed later that i could not hear the other person during a phone call. Are there any fixes to this or do i have to buy another phone out right?
  • My iphone 5 has been water damaged how do I fix it? I dropped my phone in some water 2 nights ago, so as suggested by everyone I placed it in the box of rice. However I was in a state of panic and tried to switch the phone on. It is now stuck on a solid red screen and won't turn off. How do I fix this? I would also rather not have to take it apart in order to fix it
