How to fix iPhone 4 dropped in pool?
I'm a swim instructor and lifeguard. Today my phone decided to jump out of the rubber casing and right into the pool after falling out of my hands. (Otter Box, seriously?)
I pulled it out of the pool and it was still on, but the screen suddenly turned off. I could feel the phone vibrating and assumed the screen was broken.
I dried it off with a towel and drove home to put it in rice immediately.
As I was driving, the phone turned back on, (apparently it turned off,) then started glitching. I immediately turned it off then put it in rice when I got home.
Other sites tell me to take out the SIM card and blow dry it; I would like to know if anyone else had the same experience so I can hopefully save it!
Added (1). I can't take the battery out because I don't have the tools to take it out. I also don't want to eff it up then eff up the warranty lol…
Leave it in the rice overnight and the rice will magically attract Asians who will come fix it for you. Total seriousness man.
Take sim, battery and phone on a plate, and put in the fridge for 10 minute, take it out and blow dry it with hair dryer for 5 minute, and do this 5 times. It causes water to evaporate using the cooling effect
- who says 14 year olds can't be mature
Don't go at it with a hairdryer! It could wreck the circuitry.
Same thing happen to my iPhone 4S lol
- My iphone 4s dropped in the pool what should I do? My iphone dropped in the pool 2 nights ago and I immediately put it in rice… It has been in rice for a little over 24 hrs but is still not working, what should I do?
- My Iphone 4 fell in a pool but not just a normal pool? It fell off my pocket and stayed at the bottom of the pool which was filled with sea water for 10 minutes, is there even 1% chance of it beeing fixed?
- IPhone 4 was dropped in my pool? I got it out and didn't think to turn it off. I had music playing and it stopped. I dried it off and it's been in a bowl of rice since 5. My back camera has water droplets inside the camera (it looks foggy) and my flash won't shut off. My phone was on 75% when I dropped it. It's been 5 and a half hours. Shouldn't the battery have died already? Will my phone ever work again? And how long should I keep my phone in the rice?
- I Dropped my iphone 4S in the pool? I dropped my iphone in the pool for about 2 seconds only about a foot down. I had an otter box on it and quickly took of the case and dried it off. It worked fine til about 30mins ago the home button stopped working and I can no longer charge it. I just the phone 3 weeks ago and was wondering how much it would cost for a new one or the warranty would cover it. I have Verizon if that matters. I'm just really sad that my new phone is ruined.
