How to get a mobile contract cheaper?

I'm currently on a £15/mo Pay as you go virgin mobile tarriff, and what I get for that price is good however I want a new phone.

I'm interested in getting the £22/mo iPhone 5c from Virgin Mobile and as I have been a loyal customer for years, I was hoping to get this price reduced OR what I get for £22 increased.

I want to be prepared for when I phone them up and be able to throw facts at them to try and get myself a better deal.

Anyone have any tips or similar successful experiences with Virgin Mobile?

Yes, at first they may offer it you at a lower cost as usually they're smart and say "How much would you be willing to pay a month" Then they work at you from that, So a couple things you could say is,

1. You have been a loyal customer for years and wouldn't want to change tariffs,
2. (before you do this check other tariff prices and deals) Tell them other tariffs and how good there's sounds
3. They might offer you one for like £15 but with low data/texts/call time so the best thing to do is haggle with them, try get the most you can because usually they can offer more they just try get away with the minimum so when you do say something they'll make it a bit better.

If all else fails and you really want the phone with that tariff I'd go with the £22 deal as its not too bad i guess i remember when they swindled my mate in paying £35!

Stage one.
Do your research for a better tarrif with a different provider.
Then phone and ask for a PAC code.
This will start them rolling to keep your business.
Usually, when you request a PAC code they fall over themselves to give you a better deal than a rival.
