How to get Wi-Fi via iphone from time warner cable?
My dad has internet from Time Warner Cable. I'm on facebook thru labtop but I'm tryna get Wi-Fi on my phone. I see what hes hooked onto but how do I get the password if he says he doesn't know. My dads very bad with computers opposite of me so I believe him but how do I get the password or set up a new one. I'm not very good with cable.
Wi-Fi has nothing to do with how the internet is delivered. Wi-Fi is a local connection only. If there's Wi-Fi then the local router is the delivery system. Logon to the local router. You can get there with a wired computer using the routers login address. Since you didn't say what router you have only you will be able to go look at it and determine who made it and the model. In many cases the Wi-Fi password will be printed on the label of the router. (That can be changed in the router settings but the default one will usually be shown.)
If your laptop is connected by Wi-Fi, you should be able to lookup the password that was used to connect it to the system! However, since you didn't say what operating system you are using only you can look up how to find that password. (In windows you can usually go the the network adapters section, click on security and tell it to show the password. But that depends on which windows version you are using etc.)
Posting better questions leads to better answers. If you know the router and make tell us. If you know your own operating system, tell us. We can't tell you your systems password but we can tell you how to get to it IF we know what you use.
Look for a sticker or label beneath or on the side of your router. It usually tells you what the initial Wi-Fi SSID (Name) is and the passcode to get in.
- Time Warner Cable Wi-Fi problem? My wireless internet isn't working. Everything else is working, including my cable and wired internet. I went to the router and pressed the reset button in the back and nothing worked, everything turns on and the 'sync' green button just stays lit. I checked all my cables to see if they're loose and still nothing. MY iPhone 5s connects to the Wi-Fi, but nothing loads when I press Safari, so I know its working. What's the problem?
- Regardimg charging iphone through laptop via USB cable? This is my issue. When I start my laptop (running Windows Vista), when I plug in my iPhone through USB, I can charge it and access it through iTunes as it should be but as soon as I unplug it, when I replug it the laptop doesn't recognize it and it won't charge at all. When I access device manager, I see a little triangle with an exclamation mark saying error code 10. Any idea how I can fix this issue?
- Is time Warner cable frustrating to anyone else? I've noticed that my Internet is very slow throughout the day, even if I'm the only person in the house using it. It is slow from about 2pm to 12am. It does speed up rapidly around 1 In the morning. I've been wondering if the are throttling their services and if anyone else has this problem. If you can explain why this may be happening, any help would be great. Also, I can promise that it is not my computer, as it is also the same case on my iPhone and iPad.
- Internet via iPhone's Personal Hotspot vs Cable Internet? I currently have a data plan with unlimited 4G data with my phone carrier. I can share its cellular connection with my desktop at home which has been working out great even for streaming videos. Is there any reason we should still buy Internet service from an Internet service provider like Comcast, when all I have to do is use the Internet connection from my phone carrier? What are the advantages?
