How to import music from my network drive into my iTunes library?

Ok so I have A LOT of music on my Network drive and i recently ordered my iPhone 4S and i was hoping i could put some music onto but i don't know how to copy it to my iTunes library so i can Sync it to my iphone.

If you want the music to remain on the network drive.
And not have the contents on the network drive (Music files) being copied to your computer.

Then run itunes.
Preferences > Advanced > Un-check " Copy files to itunes media folder when adding to library" > OK

How-ever your network drive would need to be available / On should you wish to play or Sync any music.

Keep the "default" location of itunes media folder as it is (On your computer)!

As you run may run itunes when the network drive is not available and itunes will return to default location and will not automatically return to the user defined location when the network drive is available again.

Other than that add the music to your library in the normal manner.
ie
Open the music location and drag to the music Tab in itunes.
Or from menu bar " File " add folder to library.
