How to make a yellowed plastic iPhone case clear again?
My iPhone case was originally completely clear, with no tint at all, unlike now.
Over time, the plastic case has yellowed, and so it's no longer completely clear & transparent.
How would I restore this phone case to its former glory?
I have already tried washing it with soap, but to no avail.
Would bleaching work?
Anyone have any good techniques?
Put it in a mix of Comet and a little bit of bleach, let it sit for a few days.
Seriously this looks like it was made in china, they use all cheap material like this.
Think you'll have to buy a new one - most probably plastic has reacted with sunlight
You're best to buy a new case, they're fairly cheap on eBay. Bleach would only make it worse
You just buy a new one. Over time as you state, the oils, food and dirt from your hands and exposure to UV Rays from the sun, cause plastics to fade and discolor.
You could buy a better clear plastic case may of plastic that has UV ray protection to prevent fading or discoloration, but you are also going to be spending a lot more money for it too.
Try some hydrogen peroxide.
- Will a hard plastic iPhone 5 case fit an iPhone 5S? I've ordered an iPhone 5s, and I want to buy a case for it, but the one I want is sold as for the iPhone 5, will it work or will I be wasting my money?
- Which is better: a rubber or plastic iphone case? I have an iphone 5 and i've been looking at cases, i don't want any big otter box or anything but the case i'm looking at purchasing comes in a hard plastic or a softer rubber material, which would you suggest to be the better buy?
- Where can i find a hard plastic bunny IPhone 4 case? Not the silicon one? I saw a youtuber called Macbarbie07 with a hard plastic light pink bunny IPhone case and i haven't been able to find one like it. I have found lots of silicon ones but none that are hard plastic.
- Silicone (soft) vs hard plastic iPhone case? Will the silicone or hard plastics iPhone cases protect the phone more from dropping it? Also, do life proof life cases really work well for dropping your phone or getting it wet?
